Industrial Leadership is one of the three key objectives of Horizon 2020. It benefits from 22.09% of the budget for 2014-2020.
It aims at creating and sustaining industrial leadership in Europe in key sectors, boosting job creation, increase market uptake of innovation, stimulate private investment in R&I, and strengthen participation of innovative SMEs.
Under this pillar, dedicated Work Programmes set up the thematic priorities and topics that will be open to calls for proposals in the next 2 years. In particular, there is a strong focus on developing European industrial capabilities in Key Enabling Technologies (KETs).
The published Work Programme 2016-2017 covers the following technological sectors/activities:
• Information and Communication Technologies
• Nanotechnologies, advanced materials, biotechnology and advanced manufacturing and processing
• SMEs and access to risk finance
