Find all Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) topics

The Horizon 2020 Work Programme for 2018-2020 has been published on 28/10/2017. For these final years of H2020, the social dimension is put into full display across the different societal challenges, thus assuring the social sciences and humanities (SSH) as a cross-cutting issue.

Indeed, the European Commission wants to focus Horizon 2020 on 'challenges' rather than on disciplinary fields of research and to promote multidisciplinary approaches. "Integrated multidisciplinary approach into the design, development and implementation of research itself and of new technologies" is aimed at improving our response to complex societal topics.

Different priorities have been pointed out which need to be addressed between 2018-2020: the question of migration, the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution and the governance processes designed to address the challenges the future holds.

Some topics are thus "flagged" by the European Commission as having implications for social sciences and humanities. A complete list of these topics across the different parts of Horizon 2020 can be found here in the participant portal.
